Dr. Ciarán Joyce

Dr. Ciarán Joyce is a General Practitioner originally from Croagh, Co Limerick. He completed his specialist GP training on the Mid-West GP Training Scheme in 2013.

During his training, Dr. Joyce undertook further postgraduate qualifications, earning a Diploma in Child Health and a Diploma from the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists. He also completed a Master's degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine, which remains one of his principal areas of clinical interest.

In 2016, Dr. Joyce assumed responsibility for the GP practice in Kileely from Ray O'Connor, continuing its established tradition of high-quality, patient-centered care. In 2022, he relocated the practice to its current modern premises to facilitate further expansion and to enhance the range of services available to the community.

Dr. Joyce also serves as a GP trainer and is committed to supporting and mentoring the next generation of General Practitioners.

Dr Siobhán Twohig

Dr Siobhán Twohig graduated from University College Cork in 2009. She completed her early postgraduate training in Cork and at University Hospital Limerick, before gaining international experience in Emergency Medicine in Melbourne, Australia.

On returning to Ireland, Dr Twohig undertook further hospital training in Dublin, rotating through Oncology and Respiratory Medicine at St James's Hospital, and Care of the Elderly at St Luke's General Hospital. She commenced the GP Training Scheme in Limerick in 2012, completing rotations in Care of the Elderly, Paediatrics, Palliative Medicine, Psychiatry, and Emergency Medicine. Her Registrar years were based in Ennistymon and Nenagh.
Following qualification as a General Practitioner, Dr Twohig practiced in Limerick City and Ennis for eight years before joining Dr Ciarán Joyce at Thomond Park Clinic in 2023.

Dr Twohig has a extended role and special interest in:

She holds Diplomas in Dermatology, Child Health, and Women's Health, in addition to certifications in Travel Medicine and Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC).

She maintains a strong commitment to medical education and professional development. She regularly speaks at national and international dermatology meetings, serves as Program Director of the Primary Care Dermatology Society of Ireland, and is a founding member and Course Director of the ICGP Dermatology in Practice Certificate.

Outside of her professional life, Dr Twohig is a mother of three and enjoys fitness, travel, and cooking.




Dr. Mudassar Malik                                               GP Registrar 

Dr Mudassar Malik graduated as a medical doctor in 2003 and began his career in the United Kingdom, working in cardiac investigations and developing a strong foundation in cardiovascular medicine.

In 2018, he visited Ireland and was immediately struck by the warmth of its people and the beauty of its landscape. It quickly felt like home, and he was delighted to make the move permanently.

Since relocating, Dr Malik has worked across cardiology, endocrinology, and acute medicine, gaining broad and valuable hospital experience. He is now undertaking his GP training in Limerick, where he particularly values continuity of care and supporting patients at every stage of life.

Outside of medicine, Dr Malik enjoys cooking, playing cricket, running, and hiking.




Michelle Leahy                                                       RGN, RM – Practice Nurse

Michelle qualified as a Registered General Nurse from Tralee General Hospital in 1988 and went on to complete her Registered Midwife training in 1991. In 1992, she worked as a Staff Nurse at St. Camillus Hospital, specialising in the care of the elderly, before joining Dr. Ray O'Connor's practice in 1995 as a Practice Nurse.

Michelle briefly stepped away from general practice to gain experience within the pharmaceutical industry, where she worked closely with the psychiatric services. In this role, she trained healthcare staff in wellness programmes and provided education to clients on nutrition and exercise.

With a total of 19 years' experience as a General Practice Nurse, Michelle brings a wealth of knowledge and clinical expertise to the team. She is highly regarded for her caring, organised, and thorough approach, and is deeply committed to ensuring continuity of care for her patients. Michelle is known for going the extra mile — if you are overdue for a monitoring blood test, you can be sure she will be in touch.

Michelle lives in Limerick and is a proud mother of two.



Rebecca Flanagan Lundström                              RGN, RM   - Practice Nurse

Rebecca joined the practice in 2025. She is a qualified midwife with extensive experience in both Denmark and Ireland. She has worked in a delivery unit as well as in general practice nursing, where she has developed a comprehensive understanding of women's health. Rebecca is dedicated to providing exceptional care to mothers and babies, ensuring they receive the support they need during this important time. .

Outside of her professional work, Rebecca enjoys spending quality time with her family, playing the cello, and running.



Siobhán O'Shea                                                      Practice Manager

Siobhán began working in General Practice in 1997 and worked with Dr. Ray O'Connor until his retirement in 2016. She continued her role within the practice alongside Dr. Ciaran Joyce. Prior to her appointment as Practice Manager in 2024, Siobhán worked across all areas of practice administration, gaining comprehensive insight into the day-to-day running of the practice. She has a strong commitment to organization, efficiency, and service development, with a focus on continually enhancing the care and experience provided to patients.



Gillian Smith                                                           Medical Secretary

After 11 years working in a pharmacy, Gillian joined the practice in June 2024.  Her experience and interest in the pharmaceutical side of general practice are a valuable asset to the team, helping to support both patients and doctors with a strong understanding of medications and related queries. She works as secretary to Dr Ciarán Joyce and Dr Siobhan Twohig, and is very committed to her role within the practice. Gillian enjoys learning all aspects of her work and takes pride in supporting the smooth running of the surgery while providing a helpful and friendly service to patients.
